Follow on-screen instructions to set up Plex Media Server on SHIELD (if you havent already done so). I'm wonder which is more likely to have cashing or stutter issues. Open Plex app on SHIELD and link it to your Plex Pass Account from a web browser: (if you havent already done so). I'm wondering how often and loud the fan is. I'm wondering about boot time (10th gen or newer nuc) vs shield (same brains on both models - not sure there is any difference in boot performance but would like to know) A Raspberry Pi Plex server will struggle to keep up with any Blu-ray quality rips.

It’s far simpler than turning a Raspberry Pi into a server, and you’ll get better results. I'll want no compress - 4K ripped from disc, DTS:X and atmos too. Once you buy the Shield Pro, setting up the Plex software is as easy as hitting an install button in the Play Store and then signing in with an account. I'm connecting to the server with gigabit ethernet - no wireless. Price isn't that big of a concern but the shield is certainly cheaper for me than getting a new nuc. I don't care about games, browsing the web or anything but plex so that is where my questions are focused - I'm sure one is better for other stuff but since I won't use those it doesn't matter for this discussion. I'm debating between buying a shield or a nuc to connecto to my TV to play them back. Not only does it run our great Android TV player app, but the device also comes with a full Plex Media Server. I have a server where all my movies are stored in my office running plex server. The NVIDIA SHIELD offers an awesome all-in-one Plex solution. I don't have either so I'm hoping some people have some experience with both for a useful response.
